Hillary surrogates continue onslaught on CNN; This time it is Wendy Davis

I’m not feeling well so I just slushed down 40th street to get some soup. I’m minding my own business as I step inside the deli to check out the soup de jour when I hear from the alarmingly loud TV set “You know Bernie Sanders has attacked Planned Parent hood as being part of the establishment”

Needless to say I began feeling much worse after hearing that and I turned to see Wendy Davis on CNN in a segment that was entirely about her endorsement of Hillary Clinton.

I found it odd that rather than trying to convince viewers why Hillary was a better choice she trotted out this bullshit meme about Bernie, who by the way has 100% pro choice voting record.  Of course the CNN anchors jumped at the chance to reinforce the meme and piled on with“Yeah, first he says that Planned Parenthood is the Establishment then he says that they are not, which is it”

Bernie has clarified his statement at least twice on record since he made it with last night being the most recent that I’m aware of-

Now what I said, what I said on a television program, and I did not say it well, is that sometimes the base of an organization looks at the world a little bit differently than the leadership. So if you have 100 percent pro-Planned Parenthood voting record, 100 percent pro-choice voting record, people are asking, ‘Why is the leadership not either supporting Bernie Sanders or why are they, you know, opposing him?’

Why can’t her surrogates highlight policy differences and discuss them when stumping for her. Why?

Why do they choose to peddle dishonest attacks even when Bernie has clarified his statements? Why?

Why can’t we have an honest discussion about the best practice for Universal Health Care if that is what everyone one of the Democratic nominees’ goal is?

Why?

Why does the Clinton campaign feel that they can’t win by having an honest debate?

When do we demand honesty from our politicians? Never? Why never? Are we that cynical?

Did we give up on honest days pay for an honest days work?

Does it means anything to us that a person making $7.25 an hour will have to work 31,200 hours to make what some folks make in a one hour speech to bankers?

Does it mean anything that Alice Walton goes to bed, wakes up 8 hours later and adds 2.3 million dollars to her 43.8 billion dollar fortune?

Does it mean anything that while Alice makes 2.3 million dollars for sleeping the US taxpayers support her employees who are below the poverty level?

Does this mean anything to those who support Hillary —

Though she was passionate about issues like gender and sustainability, Mrs. Clinton largely sat on the sidelines when it came to Wal-Mart and unions, board members said. Since its founding in 1962, Wal-Mart has fought unionization efforts at its stores and warehouses, employing hard-nosed tactics — like allegedly firing union supporters and spying on employees — that have become the subject of legal complaints against the company……..

“She was not an outspoken person on labor, because I think she was smart enough to know that if she favored labor, she was the only one,” Mr. Tate said. “It would only lessen her own position on the board if she took that position.”

Does it mean anything that Hillary got lost somewhere along the way and that she is willing to sellout her own beliefs?

If it means something to us why are we not demanding better from Hillary and her campaign?
